Husker Cowboy Boots Help Raise Money to Rebuild Hospital After Tornado

Fort Western Stores donated two pairs of Husker cowboy boots to the 9th Annual Grant Wistrom Foundation Golf Tournament Auction on June 3rd and 4th in Lincoln, NE. Grant Wistrom, a former Husker All-American who played with the St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks during his professional football career, heads the foundation. All the money raised this year went towards rebuilding the Joplin Pediatric Center in Joplin, MO. The city was hit by a devastating tornado on May 22, 2011, taking over a hundred lives and demolishing the Joplin hospital where Grant was born.

The annual charity golf tournament was a huge success this year, lending itself to a great cause. Fort Western Stores' Husker cowboy boots were a hit at the event where they were auctioned off for a total of $2,100 with the Men's pair going for $1500 and the Ladies for $600. The beautifully handcrafted Husker Boots by Nocona® were originally designed for the Berkshire Hathaway stockholders meeting in 2011 and retail at over $500.00 a pair. The exotic full quill ostrich boots are made in the USA and officially licensed.

The lucky auction winner also received a certificate for a personalized boot fitting from Fort Western Stores.

College boots by Nocona® are sold only by authorized retailers. The boots are available in a variety of ladies' and men's sizes. To purchase the full quill boots with the Nebraska embroidered logo, visit Fort Western Stores online.
