Fort Western Stores Receives WPRA Sponsor of the Year Award

Fort Western Stores received the WPRA 2010 Award for Sponsor of the Year. The WPRA Awards ceremony was held in Vegas, Thursday December 2, 2010 during the week of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The awards honor the best in the business who worked extra hard to make sure rodeo fans experienced a professional production.

Fort Western Stores was the Official Western Retail Sponsor for the WPRA Finals that were held in Lincoln, NE Oct 13-17, 2010. During the finals, rodeo fans visited our 800sq ft. Fort Stockade Booth where they found great deals on name brand western wear and could sign up to win prizes from Montana Silversmith®, American West Handbags®, Rock and Roll Cowgirl®, Cowgirl Tuff® and more.

Fort Western Stores was excited to receive the honor in support of the Women's Pro Rodeo Associations and is thankful to the association and all the rodeo fans for their participation and dedication to the Western lifestyle.

Fort Western Donates Christmas Toys and Gifts to the Center for People in Need

December 12, 2010 Uncle Ron’s held it’s 10th Annual Country Christmas. For the event, Uncle Ron’s transformed their banquet room into a winter wonderland filled with over 20 lighted Christmas trees for collecting new, unwrapped toy donations. Fort Western Stores attended the event donating over $1,200 in Western Christmas gifts to help Lincoln families in need. The event collected around 3,800 unwrapped toys total with all proceeds going to the Center for People in Need.



The Center for People in Need, located on North 27th Street in Lincoln, NE, provides comprehensive services and opportunities to support low-income, high needs families and individuals as they strive to lift themselves out of poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency. Last year, through generous donations, the center was able to provide around 10,000 low-income children a special gift during the holidays.

Trail Riding Event Raises Money for St. Jude

Fort Western Stores sponsored the “Horse’n Around For St. Jude” trail riding event, October 2, 2010. The annual fall event brings together over a hundred riders and their horses to help raise money for a worthy cause. This year, riders and their horses were led through the Historic Rock Creek State Park near Fairbury, Nebraska. The ride was organized by the employees of Nustar LP in an effort to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Riders and their horses enjoyed a three-hour scenic ride across the prairie and through wooded areas along the creek. A $15 minimum donation was collected to participate and all money was donated to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The ride was followed by a meal and raffle where riders were eligible to win donated items including gift cards from Fort Western Stores. Riders also received drawstring tote bags, compliments of Fort Western Stores and Wrangler, along with Fort Western Stores koozies and $5 Fort Bucks which can be used at Fort Western retail stores or online, towards the purchase of western wear and more.
